Actress Sadie Sink, known for her role in “Stranger Things,” is set to make her debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by appearing in “Spider-Man 4.” In this upcoming film, she will act alongside Tom Holland‘s character, Spider-Man.
It’s undetermined which character Sink will embody in the comic book adventure, but Deadline, who initially broke the casting news, suggests her role could be substantial. Additionally, there have been speculations that Sink might portray Jean Grey, an X-Men mutant previously played by Famke Janssen and Sophie Turner on screen.
Representatives from Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures, who are responsible for producing “Spider-Man” films within the Marvel Cinematic Universe under Disney, could not be contacted for a statement.
Details about the fourth “Spider-Man” movie haven’t been disclosed yet. In the most recent film, “Spider-Man: No Way Home” released in 2021, Peter Parker unintentionally opens up the multiverse, leading to the appearance of two previous Spider-Men, portrayed by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, in the same world. The movie ended with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man deciding to erase his identity from everyone’s memory, leaving his girlfriend MJ (played by Zendaya) and best friend Ned (Jacob Batalon) unable to recall him. I apologize if this is a spoiler, but “No Way Home” earned an impressive $1.9 billion at the worldwide box office, so it’s likely that Marvel fans are well-versed in Spider-Man’s storyline.
The director of “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” Destin Daniel Cretton, is now directing the fourth installment of the series. He’s replacing Jon Watts, who previously directed the first three films in the franchise. The movie is set to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
22-year-old actress Millie Bobby Brown, who gained prominence through Netflix’s “Stranger Things,” has concluded production for its fifth and final season. She also featured in Taylor Swift’s music video titled “All Too Well: The Short Film,” alongside Dylan O’Brien. Next up for Brown is the Searchlight musical “O’Dessa,” premiered at SXSW, and she will make her Broadway debut this coming April in “John Proctor Is the Villain.
