Death Stranding 2 Cast: All the Actors Revealed!

Acclaimed creator Hideo Kojima is back for another adventure with Death Stranding 2, this time venturing into diverse, unexplored landscapes and introducing an array of quirky new personalities. Here’s a sneak peek at each actor and their characters gracing the sands of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.

Six years after the unveiling of Death Stranding, Kojima’s groundbreaking masterpiece continues to captivate and resonate with players worldwide. This visionary developer is now gearing up for the release of his next ‘strand-type game’, On the Beach, which will be available starting June 26, 2025.

In its continuation, the sequel intends to build upon the distinctive gameplay mechanics and further develop the plot following the unexpected twists in the original’s extensive finale. As such, this next installment will include familiar faces along with fresh characters joining the ensemble.

A wide range of renowned artists, including the genius behind Mad Max, George Miller, and the talented Elle Fanning from A Complete Unknown, are joining the project. Here’s an all-inclusive rundown of every character officially announced for Death Stranding 2.

Sam Porter Bridges – Norman Reedus

How can a sequel continue without its main character? Norm Reidus, reprising his role as Sam Porter Bridges, is back once more to make more deliveries.

After the conclusion of the initial game, Sam continues his journey through the wilderness, linking towns, constructing paths, and meticulously avoiding deep water at every turn. However, this time he’s not alone; he now has Lou to look after. Our dear BB has matured a bit since we last encountered them, causing a few tearful moments.

Fragile – Léa Seydoux

She may be delicate, yet she’s more resilient than you might think. Once again, Léa Seydoux takes on the leading role, appearing to be a fitting partner for Sam throughout the sequel, even tending to Lou when he’s incapacitated.

Higgs Monaghan – Troy Baker

In Death Stranding 2, Troy Baker reprises his character Higgs Monaghan, now resurrected with an electric guitar by his side. This time around, he takes on his role once more. The game’s main antagonist appears as sinister and menacing as ever, exerting apparent control over the AI-driven faction that has largely automated deliveries in the new setting, giving it a significant influence.

Heartman – Nicolas Winding Refn (Performance by Darren Jacobs)

In the upcoming chapter, the film director Nicolas Winding Refn, who is among Hideo Kojima’s closest friends, will reprise his character as Heartman. Although it’s uncertain how significant his role might be this time, the March 2025 trailer hinted that Heartman could play a crucial part in managing a massive tar monster. Consequently, Heartman may hold even more importance to Sam’s journey than ever before.

Tarman – George Miller (Performance by Marty Rhone)

Enthusiast of the Mad Max series, Kojima has introduced George Miller as a key figure in Death Stranding 2. To be precise, Miller’s likeness and voice will appear in the game sequel, and his character, named after one of Max’s iconic vehicles – the Interceptor, or “Tarman,” possesses a resemblance to Furiosa, as he is also missing an arm.

Tomorrow – Elle Fanning

The phrase “Tomorrow is in your hands” was a recurring tagline in DS1’s promotional materials. As a result, various theories have emerged, suggesting that Elle Fanning’s character might be an older version of Lou (BB). However, the specifics about her role in the game remain secret for now.

For the first time, Fanning is taking on a significant role in a video game, following her standout appearance in the Academy Award-nominated film ‘A Complete Unknown.’ She has also been seen in movies such as Maleficent, Super 8, and Nicolas Winding Refn’s The Neon Demon.

Neil – Luca Marinelli

In the thrilling March 2025 trailer for Death Stranding 2, I found out that Luca Marinelli has joined our gaming world as Neil, a character who seems to hold considerable significance within the franchise. Interestingly, it appears Neil is taking over the role previously played by Mads Mikkelsen as Cliff in Death Stranding 1, as Hideo Kojima himself clarified.

Neil, who illegally transports items between Mexico and the U.S., grapples with the emotional strain of his profession. In an attempt to find solace, he starts seeing a psychologist named Lucy. Over time, he develops feelings for her, and it turns out that Lucy in this story is portrayed by Alissa Jung, who happens to be Neil’s real-life spouse, Luca’s wife.

Without a doubt, Luca, who’s long been an ardent admirer of Kojima’s works, ascended to TV fame with “The Old Guard” on Netflix. However, his acting career spans beyond this single project, having graced numerous Italian productions such as “Diabolik,” “The Eight Mountains,” and various others throughout the years.

Lucy – Alissa Jung

In Death Stranding 2, Alissa Jung breathes life into the character of Lucy and assumes dual roles – both a psychologist for Neil and a romantic partner. Previews suggest that their relationship will be fraught with tension, notably escalating when Lucy becomes pregnant.

Rainy – Shioli Kutsuna

So far, we don’t know much about this specific character as of now. Interestingly enough, in a style reminiscent of Hideo Kojima, she makes her debut out in the rain, which seems to hint at her name being Rainy.

Kutsuna is best known for her role as the ever-charming Yukio in Marvel’s Deadpool series.

Dollman – Faith Akin (Performance by Jonathon Roumie)

In Kojima’s latest game, Dollman, there is a beautiful fusion of cinema and gaming, as real-life Turkish-German film director, Faith Akin, contributes not only his voice but also appears in the stop-motion character.

Without a doubt, Dollman – the most eccentric character introduced in DS2 yet – seems to be tagging along with Sam on his numerous journeys. He alerts Sam about potential hazards ahead and shares valuable insights about the surrounding lore, keeping us all updated as well.

Doctor – Debra Wilson

It was briefly announced that Debra Wilson has been added to the cast of Death Stranding 2 under the character name ‘Doctor.’

Despite not having heard her speak or knowing much about her specific functions, Wilson is undeniably a monarch in the gaming world, with numerous appearances and voiceovers in prominent titles such as the Star Wars Jedi series for decades.

Ma Dong-seok – Prepper

Ma Dong-seok, a renowned action star from South Korea, has been confirmed to appear among several preppers that the character Sam can encounter within Death Stranding 2. Similar to how Conan O’Brien and Geoff Keighley were concealed preppers in the outskirts of Edge Knot City in the original game, it seems that Death Stranding 2 will continue this trend by incorporating well-known personalities into cameo roles once more.

As a dedicated gamer, I’ve got the lowdown on all the confirmed actors and characters for Death Stranding 2, but remember, there’s still a few months left before we can officially get our hands on it. Rest assured, I’ll be right here to keep you posted as more details unfold!
