Robert Pattinson’s ‘Mickey 17’ Bests ‘Bridget Jones’ at U.K, Ireland Box Office, ‘Marching Powder’ Debuts in Third

In its first weekend, Warner Bros.’ movie “Mickey 17” took the number one position at the box offices of the United Kingdom and Ireland, bringing in a total of approximately £2.1 million or $2.7 million, as reported by Comscore.

In a different wording, the science fiction thriller directed by Bong Joon Ho, featuring Robert Pattinson, had a successful opening, but it was up against tough competition from the ongoing hit movie “Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy.

In its fourth week, Universal’s “Bridget Jones” sequel maintained its success, earning $2.6 million to secure the second spot. With a total gross of $52.2 million, the film has become one of the most significant releases of the year thus far.

In a thrilling turn of events, “Marching Powder” by True Brit Entertainment debuted in third place, earning an impressive $1.3 million. This is the highly-awaited return of director Nick Love and lead actor Danny Dyer, who last collaborated on “Outlaw” back in 2007. The filmmakers are optimistic that the comedy-drama, which delves into themes of addiction, violence, and uplifting endings, using real-life experiences, will surpass its $2 million budget within the initial week of release.

In its fourth weekend, Disney’s movie “Captain America: Brave New World” slipped to the fourth spot, earning a total of $780,135. This brings the Marvel hit’s overall gross to an impressive $21.2 million.

Apart from Sony’s “One of Them Days,” starring Keke Palmer and SZE, another fresh entry made an appearance. It premiered in the seventh spot, raking in a total of $257,016.

Following its numerous Oscar victories, Universal’s movie “Anora” climbed back up the box office rankings, securing the 8th position in its 19th week. During this weekend, it earned $226,703, bringing its total earnings to an impressive $3.2 million.

In the lineup of upcoming movies, Entertainment Film Distributors will be launching the suspenseful film “Last Breath,” featuring Woody Harrelson, Simu Liu, and Finn Cole, at over 300 different movie theaters nationwide. Meanwhile, Universal’s production “Black Bag,” helmed by Steven Soderbergh, boasts an impressive ensemble cast that includes Cate Blanchett, Michael Fassbender, Pierce Brosnan, and Tom Burke.

Additionally featured in these wide releases are Warner Bros.’ “Opus,” featuring Ayo Edebiri and John Malkovich, as well as Studiocanal’s fantasy-adventure titled “In the Lost Lands,” starring Milla Jovovich and Dave Bautista.

The film “Sister Midnight,” starring Radhika Apte, is being premiered as the opening title at Cannes, while “Oh My Goodness!” sees five nuns competing in a major cycling race to win a prize and restore an old hospice, both are being introduced by Tull Stories.
