Genndy Tartakovsky considered ending Primal after its initial run. He initially planned to shift the show’s focus to new characters in an anthology format, even suggesting a title like Primal: Creation. However, he became dissatisfied with this new direction and decided to revisit the story of Spear and Fang. He realized the original story might have been cut short – only 20 episodes – and even wondered if he could bring Spear back to life after killing him off. He didn’t want a prequel, and whatever came next needed to truly feel like Primal. The idea of turning Spear into a zombie came up as a joke from someone on his team.

Throughout much of the final season, Stranger Things has seemed to rewrite its own story. We’ve seen Will gain powers and become even more central than Eleven, learned the Upside Down is actually a gateway to another world, and been introduced to a strange new wormhole – all after dozens of episodes. The Duffer brothers are essentially saying, “Actually…” and changing established ideas. It’s easy to forget the U.S. military even played a role in the story. However, despite these shifts, the show also feels strangely hesitant. Many characters seem stuck in repeating patterns: Will and Joyce constantly revisiting her promise to protect him, Hopper and Eleven endlessly worrying about her safety, and Nancy, Jonathan, and Steve caught in a love triangle. Aside from Will’s newfound abilities and his coming out, most characters aren’t progressing.

The initial trailer for Doomsday, featuring Chris Evans, was straightforward and depicted him seemingly living a quiet life with a baby. The latest trailer, which includes Thor, also centers on a hero and a child, but unlike the first trailer which felt like a pause in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s progress, this one clearly moves Thor’s story forward.

I also really enjoy those movies! I’ve watched all the Rambo and Rocky films, and while I like most of them, none are my absolute favorite Sylvester Stallone movie. I do have a fondness for Judge Dredd, but I think Daylight, from 1996, will probably always be my personal favorite.

Matt Easton, who studies historical weapons and practices European martial arts, reviewed the fight scenes in the first Lord of the Rings movie to see how realistic they were. While he pointed out a few inaccuracies – like arrows traveling too far and swords cutting through armor too easily – he thought the combat was generally “very well done” and raised the standard for fantasy films. He particularly praised the battle on Weathertop, where Aragorn fought off five Ringwraiths to protect Frodo, Sam, Merry, and Pippin.
