I’m amazed to share that my personal trash bin has been making waves online, leaving people cringing and feeling disgusted at its contents. Some have even likened it to the terrifying villains from Resident Evil or the infected characters from The Last of Us.
There’s always something exciting happening on the internet, and the recent viral video is a perfect example of that. On March 10th, a Reddit user shared a video, but instead of just being household waste, it resembled the beginning stages of an apocalyptic zombie virus rather than ordinary trash.
reminiscent of scenes from The Last of Us video games, a collection of reddish, mold-like structures ascends the storage bins, while clouds of tiny insects buzz within them.
Mysterious puddles of fluid accumulate at the base of the garbage bin, and creepy vine-like extensions from the growths further intensify the eerie ambiance, giving off a distinctly cinematic feel reminiscent of a horror movie.
Should I throw away my trash can?

The video is rapidly gaining traction on various social media outlets, stirring a mix of intrigue and unease among online users, who are left wondering what bizarre phenomenon could have arisen within that trash can.
Viral garbage can sparks comparison to Stranger Thing’s Upside Down
It’s been said that a trash can now serves as a dwelling for a swarm of vulture bees, often referred to as ‘carrion bees.’ These bees are known for their diet which consists of the decomposing tissue of deceased animals. Unlike other bee species, they do not possess stingers.
Certain species of bee-vultures produce a material from their diet that might account for the meaty, mushroom-like growths found on the inside of storage containers. This substance is sometimes referred to as ‘meat honey’, although it’s important to note that this term doesn’t exactly evoke a desire to eat!

Observers swiftly drew comparisons between the scenario and a video game setting, as one person exclaimed, “Goodness gracious, what on earth is this I’m seeing?”, prompting another to respond, “It seems like a Resident Evil boss to me.
“Cool, a Stranger Things diorama of your very own,” another joked.
“Looks like a Zerg creep colony from StarCraft,” yet another suggested.
Finding that the Upside Down has somehow managed to seep into your trash bin isn’t a positive development — but for fans of the popular Netflix series, there’s something to look forward to: rumors suggest the show’s fifth and final season will be released sometime in 2025. (Here’s hoping Vecna doesn’t trouble your garbage can until then!)
The unpleasant discovery of the Upside Down invading your trash can isn’t great news, but fans of the hit Netflix series can anticipate a positive development: whispers suggest that season 5 (the final one) might arrive in 2025. (Let’s keep our fingers crossed that Vecna won’t contaminate your trash before then!)
