In Destiny 2’s gameplay for some time now, Common Sniper Rifles haven’t been very effective or popular. However, among these weapons, it seems that the Keen Thistle might be the one to break this pattern.
In the Episode Heresy, the Aggressive Frame Marksman Rifle was introduced as a fresh Trials of Osiris reward and its perk array for Player versus Player (PvP) is exceptionally powerful. Although it seems designed primarily for the Crucible, don’t overlook Keen Thistle in Player versus Environment (PvE) – this particular roll has a surprisingly effective potential for single-target damage.
Beginning March 8, when Trials of Osiris resumes, you can now acquire the enhanced Adept version of Keen Thistle. This superior variant offers the advantage of utilizing Adept Mods, making it an excellent addition to your collection. Any instance of this weapon with the following desirable rolls is worth keeping in your Vault.

As a sniper enthusiast, I’d say that among Lone Wolf, Opening Shot, Moving Target, and the perks in Keen Thistle’s pool, Snapshot Sights and Closing Time make an exceptional pair for PvP sniping. The former quickens your scope zoom and aim-down sight time, while the latter increases damage based on target proximity. Together, they offer a powerful combo that enhances precision and speed in close quarters, making them my go-to choice for my Sniper Rifle.
As a gamer, I’ve got to admit that Snapshot Sights’ significant boost to ADS (Aim Down Sights) has become an essential feature for my go-to weapon types in competitive gaming scenes. It’s like having X-ray vision when I’m aiming! Similarly, Closing Time’s continuous enhancements to range, handling, and accuracy on Special weapons are simply irresistible perks compared to Moving Target or Opening Shot. It’s a no-brainer for me!
In PvE scenarios, the reliable pairing of Envious Assassin and Bait and Switch can surprisingly make Keen Thistle a solid alternative DPS choice in instances where you run low on Heavy ammo. When Bait and Switch’s damage increase activates, it allows you to quickly eliminate larger enemies with just a few bullets.
You now know Keen Thistle’s top roll selections, but keep in mind there are other desirable Trials of Osiris weapons to farm during Heresy. Don’t forget to explore the optimal builds for Exalted Truth and Aisha’s Care when Saint-14 graces the Tower.
