Despite signs suggesting it may be wrapping up, Shemar Moore isn’t quite finished with “S.W.A.T.” just yet.
After learning that “S.W.A.T.” has been axed by CBS for the third time following eight seasons and 163 episodes, the show’s leading actor Moore (who portrays Sergeant Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson) voiced his displeasure on Instagram yesterday.

We’ve reached Season 8, just three weeks from the end, and once more, we’ve been cancelled – it’s disappointing all over again,” Moore expressed to his fans. “It’s really tough.
Moore reminisced about the time when he was asked to deliver a speech on-set, which he referred to as “the most outstanding crew in Hollywood.” In the video, he expressed gratitude towards CBS, acknowledging that shows such as “Criminal Minds” and “S.W.A.T.” played significant roles in launching his lengthy career.

Moore looked back on a memory of being asked to speak on-set, which he labeled “the most remarkable crew in Hollywood.” In the recording, he thanked CBS, highlighting how series like “Criminal Minds” and “S.W.A.T.” ignited his extended career trajectory.
Moore didn’t let that stop him from declaring, “I’ve still got more to give!” He urged Netflix, where the first seven seasons of the series are currently available in the U.S., to revive the show and bring it back. He emphasized how the show had previously risen to the top of their rankings. “Netflix,” he said, “if you’re intrigued by a show that’s self-propelling and captivating global audiences, we’d be thrilled to collaborate with you again.
Apart from Moore, other long-standing cast members have also voiced their dissatisfaction over the abrupt ending of the show. In a statement, executive producer Shawn Ryan expressed his gratitude for being part of S.W.A.T. for eight seasons and for having the chance to narrate Hondo’s and 20-Squad’s stories. He thanked the fans, Shemar Moore, the rest of the cast, producers, Sony Pictures Television, CBS Studios, and CBS for this opportunity.
Moore pointed out that “S.W.A.T.” was previously taken off the air not just once, but twice. This opens up the possibility of the series making a comeback yet again.
