TCM Teaming With Atlanta Symphony Orchestra for Celebration of Jewish Film Scores (EXCLUSIVE)

This fall, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, along with the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival and Turner Classic Movies (TCM), are joining forces to host an elegant event showcasing selections from the soundtracks of renowned Jewish-themed films, as revealed on Wednesday.

On the final night of the 2025 Atlanta Jewish Film Festival, it was announced that a concert would take place in October. This announcement was made through a video teaser about the event, which will be hosted by TCM’s Ben Mankiewicz this fall. The concert is part of the festival’s 25th anniversary season and marks the return of Jewish film music concerts, last held 15 years ago during the 10th anniversary celebration.

For many years, Mankiewicz has been attending the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival, and he’s thrilled about this special event that combines film and music. In a statement, he expressed, ‘This isn’t an evening to miss with iconic scores from classic Jewish cinema being played live.’ Dress code is casual – just bring your passion for fantastic films, memorable tunes, and some heartfelt sharing (kvelling) as well as perhaps a bit of chat (kvetching).

Despite no official announcements about the songs to be played, previous similar events have featured scores from movies like “Gentlemen’s Agreement,” “Exodus,” “The Diary of Anne Frank,” “Schindler’s List,” “Yentl,” “Life Is Beautiful,” “The Producers,” “Masada,” “I Have Never Forgotten You,” “Driving Miss Daisy” and “Fiddler on the Roof.” The upcoming event will include music from both contemporary and timeless Jewish films.

I’m thrilled to be collaborating with AJFF as they mark their 25 years of enriching the Atlanta community. Just like how music intensifies the emotions in magnificent films, this joint event, a blend of two cultural powerhouses, will undoubtedly result in an unforgettable night, each contributing our unique strengths to the mix.

Ticket information for the Oct. 20 concert will become available at a later date.

The Atlanta Jewish Film Festival concluded on Wednesday evening with a screening of the Brazilian dramedy ” Rebel with a Cause.”
