What is War Robots: Frontiers?
Frontiers” is an online action game set in space battles, where you control powerful robotic machines. The creators promise that the gameplay will be easy to grasp yet rich with detail, making it enjoyable for both beginners and veterans alike.
Kick off the action by selecting your preferred machinery. A variety of ready-made mechs are on offer, yet the game invites you to think like an engineer and build a custom mech from the ground up, tailoring it to your preferred strategy and imagination.
In this game, there are more than 5 million different combinations possible when it comes to assembling modules, selecting pilots, choosing weapons, and adjusting customizations. The machine you construct is made up of over 115 distinct modules, armed with a weapon from an extensive collection. Additionally, you can assign a pilot with unique abilities to operate it.
In every mech, the fighting style is unique due to its distinct class. Upon starting play, you can choose from a total of eighteen different types. Let me provide some samples:
1. The heavy mech is slow but deals significant damage.
2. The light mech moves quickly and excels in evasive maneuvers.
3. The medium mech offers a balance between mobility and power output.
4. The sniper mech specializes in long-range attacks.
5. The tank mech has exceptional defensive capabilities.
- Varangian (Flanker) – A powerful warrior that inflicts significant damage and is able to survive retaliatory fire thanks to its Energy Dome.
- Ravana (Defender) – Protects itself and allies to establish a line of defense against enemies.
- Typhon (Tactician) – Can deal damage from a long distance, and also has equipment that can block the enemy’s weapon.
- Fenrir (Assault) – Good for medium and short range combat. Gets right into the center of battle, retreats, and regenerates. Its equipment allows it to burn armor in exchange for greater speed and damage.
Additionally, it encompasses Mixed classes, crafted from diverse modules, and the Titan, an incredibly potent and final mech, accessible by meeting specific objectives during battle. Each mech is engineered thoughtfully so that players can experience its substantial weight and power for maximum immersion.
In the heat of battle within War Robots: Frontiers, combatants collaborate with their team to take down enemy machines. Battles are marked by frequent explosions that might not only annihilate adversaries but also impact the surroundings. The strategic component is vital since the landscape can offer advantages, such as providing cover for ambushing enemies from a concealed position.
Four diverse maps
In the world of War Robots: Frontiers, I’m thrilled to be part of the action on four intricately designed battlefields at the outset. These arenas are meticulously crafted for strategic combat, with both day and night cycles adding an extra layer of tactical depth.
- Terminus – A frozen asteroid with a spaceport and cargo, full of dense tunnels and open avenues. The energy barriers found on the map block projectiles, but can be passed through by Robots, providing an opportunity for clever tactics.
- Fissure – A huge refinery located in a snowy area. A treacherous and hilly area, perfectly suited for snipers, supporting the mechs fighting at the refinery. Numerous elevators will help us move around the map.
- Spectrum – A secret research base that is a place of almost constant conflict. Ideal terrain for mid- or close-range combat, with many safe points and open paths.
- Catalyst – A volcanic locale with a geothermal power plant located inside. The battles are fought far from the lava, and the infrastructure allows for climbing to vantage points to seize the high ground.

Three game modes
In this game, players can challenge themselves across three distinct play styles. The initial mode is called Warp Rush, where the objective revolves around capturing Warp Gates to establish respawn locations. Victory comes either by accomplishing a predetermined objective or eradicating all opposing robot enemies.
From my perspective as an enthusiast, the second game mode is named “Last Robot Standing.” In this thrilling scenario, both teams strive to annihilate all adversarial robots. Unlike other modes, respawn points are initially confined to our starting locations, but as the battle unfolds, strategic respawn zones closer to the action may become available.
In the final gameplay option, you’ll find the timeless Team Deathmatch mode. Here, players earn points by obliterating opponents’ equipment, and the team that notches up 30 eliminations emerges victorious. The excitement is amplified as power-ups pop up on the map, offering increased damage potential or reduced cooldown periods.
For those who love mechs or are seeking an exciting new adventure, consider downloading War Robots: Frontiers at no cost from Steam (PC) or the game’s official site. Console gamers can grab it from the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store.
