It has now been officially announced that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 Remaster will release on July 11 for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Besides the regular game version, there will also be deluxe and collector’s editions which grant early access to the game three days before the official launch date.
For some time now, whispers about a remastered version of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4 have been circulating – despite earlier reports suggesting the project was turned down to allow developer Vicarious Visions to concentrate on more Call of Duty content. However, last month witnessed an increase in activity surrounding this franchise. Notably, professional skater Tyshawn Jones mentioned his involvement in a revamped Tony Hawk game, and shortly afterwards, Call of Duty’s Season 2 Reloaded update subtly hinted at the possibility of a THPS unveiling within its Grind map.
The confirmation of the remake was nearly certain following the countdown posted on the official THPS website and Tony Hawk himself hinting at the upcoming game online. Fans of the series have eagerly anticipated these new remakes, as Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 were initially released in 2020.
Since that time, no further Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater games have been launched, however, fans were assured by Hawk in 2024 that the series would keep moving forward. In parallel, Skate, our main competitor, is also gearing up for a return. This revival project is being handled by Full Circle, a studio based in Vancouver. The release date hasn’t been announced yet, but they’ve opened sign-ups for a beta testing phase.
