How to find Dragonbone Relic in Monster Hunter Wilds

In Monster Hunter Wilds, the Dragonborn Relic can potentially appear in any of the five regions: Windward Plains, Scarlet Forest, Oilwell Basin, Iceshard Cliffs, and the Ruins of Wyveria. Interestingly, these relics might be found among the large piles of bones that are scattered across the map. However, the likelihood of a Dragonbone Relic emerging from these bone piles is relatively low.

In the game “Monster Hunter Wilds”, these items exclusively show up in the Higher-Tier zones. To access these areas, you must first complete the main story and move past the New Ecosystems mission. Once you’ve done that, regions across the game will have Bonepiles where there could be a Dragonbone Relic dropping, but it’s quite rare and has a low probability of appearing anytime you search through them.

Additionally, you can gain them by embarking on extra missions, which Alma may offer during our conversation. These side quests are often given by other characters in Monster Hunter Wilds or designed for tracking down a specific monster. Keep in mind that as you advance through the main storyline, more of these optional quests will become accessible, enhancing your hunter’s rank.

Following my victory throughout the entire game and initiating another battle against Arkveld at hunter rank 42, I encounter optional missions titled “The Chains of Life.” By successfully finishing these missions, there’s a possibility that Arkveld may drop a Dragonbone Relic as a reward. However, it’s important to note that like the Bonepiles, this item only has a slim chance of appearing. Moreover, completing the optional quest is mandatory for the opportunity to obtain the Dragonbone Relic.

Among the two choices, it appears that investigating the Bonepiles may be the swiftest approach to locate a Dragonbone Relic. Opting for it via additional tasks could potentially consume 10 to 15 minutes battling a creature, only for the item not to drop. Alternatively, during the same timeframe, you could traverse an entire region, examine all Bonepiles, and return to your hut to restart the process if necessary.

To boost your likelihood of acquiring the Dragonbone Relic from a bone heap, consider equipping certain passive bonuses on your hunter. The Geology Charm is an ideal talisman for your character while attempting to gather this artifact.

To craft the Geologist equipment, you’ll need 2 Balahara Scales, 1 Balahara Shell, and 2 Sturdy Bones. This skill, initially granting an extra item when looting regular bone piles, can be upgraded to level 2 for a bonus item when gathering special items. While it doesn’t guarantee a Dragonbone Relic, it enhances the likelihood of finding one with each search.
