The first season of Last One Laughing came to Amazon Prime in the U.S. and U.K. last March, with a mix of comedians known from shows like Taskmaster – including Richard Ayoade, Lou Sanders, Daisy May Cooper, and Bob Mortimer – and others more popular with British audiences. However, the second season, which started on March 19th, feels like an all-star edition. It’s unclear if the show increased its budget, but this season features bigger names – comedians who’ve become well-known beyond panel shows – like David Mitchell (Peep Show, Would I Lie to You?), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Taskmaster winners Maisie Adam and Sam Campbell, Alan Carr (Traitors UK), and Diane Morgan (Philomena Cunk). The first three episodes are currently available, with episodes four and five releasing on March 26th and the finale on April 2nd.

Rocky, the alien who teams up with Ryan Gosling’s character in Project Hail Mary, is a truly unique being. Imagine a creature with a rocky exterior, colored like granite, chalk, and rust – almost like something out of a classic monster movie. He’s spider-like in build, with a central body and numerous limbs that move like tentacles, but also have individual fingers. He navigates the air with a fluid, swirling motion, and has a strange underside that even makes Gosling’s character jump! Although he doesn’t have a face, Rocky communicates through a beautiful, complex language of trills, distortions, and sounds reminiscent of whales and theremins. Beyond his unusual appearance, Rocky is incredibly helpful, compassionate, and brilliant – so intelligent that he makes the already-smart Dr. Grace feel a little inadequate. He’s one of a kind… or is he? Rocky shares many characteristics with the droids from Star Wars, and Project Hail Mary often feels a bit like a space adventure in that same vein.

Hugh Jackman has been the face of the film’s promotion, but his character doesn’t appear to have a long role – the story begins with his murder. The newest trailer reveals Jackman’s character enjoyed reading mysteries to his sheep, which explains why they’re so determined to solve his death. The film also boasts a talented cast including Emma Thompson, Nicholas Braun, Molly Gordon, and Hong Chau.

Final Fantasy Tactics is a standout title in the Final Fantasy series, but it was overshadowed by the release of Final Fantasy 7 in the same year. Fortunately, strong word-of-mouth and positive reviews kept it popular over time. Although it never got a direct sequel, it did inspire several excellent spin-off games, though they haven’t received as much attention.

Generation X-23, created by Jody Houser and illustrated by Jacopo Camagni, focuses on the Marvel character Laura Kinney. Originally believed to be a clone of Wolverine (Logan), she was later discovered to be his biological daughter, conceived through the work of Sarah Kinney. After Logan’s death, Laura eventually took on the mantle of Wolverine herself.

Stephen King is teaming up with Peter Straub for a new book called Other Worlds Than These. This novel will conclude the Talisman Trilogy, continuing the story of Jack Sawyer after Talisman and Black House. It’s also intended to resolve storylines from King’s Dark Tower series and pave the way for a revival of that dark fantasy world in both books and on television.

The next season of Daredevil: Born Again begins right after the events of Season 1. Mayor Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin, is cracking down on vigilantes in New York City, and Matt Murdock, as Daredevil, is secretly fighting back. Krysten Ritter will reprise her role as Jessica Jones, and Matthew Lillard joins the cast as a new, enigmatic character. As fans eagerly await the clash between Daredevil and Kingpin, here’s the premiere date and time for Season 2 on Disney+, as well as when the season will finish airing.

Marvel Studios’ latest Disney+ special, The Punisher: One Last Kill, brings Jon Bernthal back as Frank Castle in his first solo project since the Netflix series The Punisher ended in 2019. Debuting on Disney+ on May 12th, One Last Kill picks up Castle’s story after the events of Daredevil: Born Again season 2, continuing his dark and violent journey.
