Then, upon winning the award for editing, he emphasized that editing plays a crucial role in his directing and a substantial part of his screenwriting.
In his acceptance speech for Best Director, he took a pause to advocate for movie theaters. He expressed, “Experiencing a film in the theater, alongside an audience, is unique.” He continued, “We share laughter, tears, fear, and silence together. In a world that may seem increasingly divided, this shared experience has never been more crucial.
Ultimately, when Baker clinched the Best Picture award, it appeared as though he had run out of words, merely stopping by to deliver a brief message. “I wish to express my gratitude to the Academy for honoring an authentic independent film,” he stated. “This project was brought to life through the hard work, sweat, and dedication of remarkable independent artists.
