At the 2025 Oscars, a close-up of Margaret Qualley nibbling her fingertip was chosen as the ideal transition from the James Bond montage to its live tribute. The Governor Awards recognized Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, longtime producers of Bond films, with an honorary Oscar award. Qualley’s twirls and jumps in a flowing red gown paved the way for Lisa of Blackpink to descend from above to perform Paul McCartney’s “Live and Let Die.” It appeared that Cynthia Erivo decided against using the lift for her performance.
