Well, they’ve recreated it! On the red carpet of the 97th Academy Awards, Berry playfully kissed Brody. When asked about it during an interview on Access Hollywood, Berry explained, “I had to do that, I owed him one.” Berry assured she had her girlfriend’s consent for the kiss. “Georgina said I could,” she added. However, it seems someone else might have been left out of the loop – none other than Jesus Christ himself.
Over the years, both Brody and Berry have often reminisced about their Oscar moment. During an appearance on WWHL, Berry admitted that she had no other option but to go with the flow. “I remember thinking, ‘What on earth is happening now?'” she stated. “Because I was there the previous year and knew the sensation of feeling detached, I just decided to roll with it.
