Taylor Sheridan will write and direct a new Western film about the Battle of the Alamo, a key event in the Texas Revolution. The battle, which lasted 13 days in 1836, pitted a small group of Texan defenders against a much larger Mexican army led by President General Antonio López de Santa Anna. Though many, including Davy Crockett, were killed, the Texans fought bravely and refused to surrender, making the Alamo a lasting symbol of courage and defiance.
