Stephen King’s Carrie Adaptation Streams on Max

In March’s exciting lineup of fresh TV shows and films, I just can’t wait to dive into what’s said to be the best Stephen King adaptation ever made – it’s landing right here on Max!

As I immerse myself in the gaming world once more, I can’t help but reflect on my recent journey back into one of Stephen King’s masterpieces – a tale as chilling as the digital realms I often inhabit. Osgood Perkins’ take on The Monkey is garnering high praise from critics, yet it’s this classic story that continues to captivate me.

Stephen King’s horror novels have frequently been ranked among the greatest, and with upcoming adaptations for films like “The Long Walk” and “The Running Man,” it seems his terrifying tales are not losing any steam.

To explore one of his initial and exceptional novels that have been adapted into a movie, all you have to do is visit Max.

Stephen King Carrie adaptation is now on Max

Both the 1976 and 2013 versions of Carrie have been added to the streaming service as of March 1.

Initially, Carrie was King’s debut published novel, later becoming the initial screen adaptation of his works. Ever since its initial movie release, it continues to hold the top rating among Stephen King movies on Rotten Tomatoes with a score of 94%.

1976’s horror film featured Sissy Spacek and John Travolta, and revolved around a young woman who found out she possessed psychokinetic abilities following her first menstruation. As these powers intensified, she faced challenges in dealing with tormentors at school and an overly devout mother.

2013 saw a new adaptation of Carrie, starring Chloë Grace Moretz in the main role. However, this remake didn’t receive the same acclaim from critics as the original version did. Despite this, it managed to earn an impressive $84.8 million at the box office, outweighing its production cost of $30 million.

As a film adaption from Stephen King’s debut novel, “Carrie” stands as a significant milestone in his literary legacy. However, its production was originally quite uncertain.

In his memoir “On Writing,” Stephen King admitted that he had considered discarding the initial pages of a novel after taking another look at them, feeling a sense of displeasure.
