Given the circumstances, Steak ‘n Shake opted for a change in their frying oil, choosing beef tallow – a distinctive type of oil derived from beef fat instead.
On February 21st, Steak ‘n Shake proudly announced that they are the first burger chain in America to use 100% Beef Tallow for their burgers, free of any chemicals or preservatives. This is what leading quality looks like!

By March 1st, Steak ‘n Shake intends to adopt a policy where they’ll use beef tallow across all their restaurants for cooking purposes. Currently, their establishments located in Texas, Ohio, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Florida have already implemented this new frying technique.

Following their announcement and execution of the changes, Elon Musk praisefully commented on Steak ‘n Shake, noting that their food is delightful.
“And the fries taste way better!” Musk exclaimed on X.
