Uber has reacted following the widespread attention garnered by a TikTok user who posted a video, unveiling that her father unexpectedly appeared as her driver through the service.
Ever since it debuted in 2016, TikTok has emerged as a platform that houses an abundance of trending videos shared by people globally.
Videos showcasing well-known brands frequently elicit a reaction from the company; for instance, Universal Studios’ reply following a viral video of a marriage proposal at the Grinch location.
On the 24th of February, 2025, a video by TikToker Lil_Beckyy became popular when she disclosed an unexpected incident: She booked an Uber for a ride home, only to discover that her own father was the driver.

Perspective: When I once hailed an Uber, it turned out that my father was the driver, isn’t that funny? (laughs)
Becky added: “Guys, it’s so funny. We just called an Uber, and look! It’s my dad!”
In my latest vlog, I shared a hilarious moment when I recorded my father’s priceless reaction upon realizing who was in the car he was about to pick up – apparently, he had a gut feeling it was me and my pals! He even playfully threatened to call off the ride, claiming he “sort of sensed” it was Becky and her crew.
In just about 5 million views, Becky’s debut TikTok video sparked reactions from hundreds of people, including Uber themselves.
“Did you give him 5 stars or…..?” Uber asked.
One person suggested a response for when your father asks, “Don’t I seem like your personal chauffeur to you?”, which could be, “Indeed, it seems that way to me.
A third user commented, “I got Uber Eats delivered, but my mom grabbed it instead and showed me the receipt with ‘Did you do this?’
Becky’s video has become the latest sensation to spread rapidly on the popular short-video platform, TikTok. The “singing grandad” touched the hearts of countless viewers with his rendition of Pink Pony Club by Chappel Roan, while memes such as ‘Not my name quarterback’ and ‘Millenial burger place’ have also gained immense popularity on the app.
