It’s clear that EA Sports College Football 25 was a massive hit for the company, and they’re bringing the series back this year, promising an array of new features that could make it even more impressive than the version released in 2024.
According to EA Sports executive, Daryl Holt, the team acknowledged they wouldn’t be able to include all their desired features in the 2024 game. In his words, there’s still plenty of potential improvements and additions left to explore, or as he put it, “there’s a lot of room for growth.
In response to questions about the details of CFB 26, Holt chose not to delve deeply, instead hinting mysteriously, “There are plenty of exciting developments yet to be revealed.
As a fellow gamer, let me share our approach: “We’ve launched a game, and we’re deeply aware of what matters most to players – what they enjoy playing, what they’d like tweaked, enhanced, or new features added. This game is crafted by gaming enthusiasts like us, for the community, and we aim to foster a bond where their preferences drive our decisions.
2025’s version of CFB 25 is expected to focus on improving the solo player experience, particularly the Career Mode known as Road to Glory, as numerous players found it lacking in the previous edition.
College Football Bowl 25 has been released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles, but not on personal computers (PCs). According to The Athletic’s sources, the game was not launched on PC because its primary audience is in North America, and releasing on PC is more crucial for global launches. However, EA initially focused on Xbox and PlayStation platforms, with plans to explore other opportunities and potential releases on additional platforms in the future.
In the year 2024, Electronic Arts’ (EA) game CFB 25 was not publicly revealed to have any specific sales figures, but it ranked as the second highest-selling game overall in the United States, surpassed only by Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Holt, a representative from EA, stated that the game surpassed all their expectations and became an integral part of the cultural zeitgeist associated with college football.
One possible modification for CFB 26 could involve the compensation provided to student-athletes participating in it. In the previous version, CFB 25, over 11,000 players received $600 and a free game copy, amounting to approximately $6 million in total expenses for EA. Some athletes also earned extra money by endorsing the game. For CFB 26, a company named Pathway Sports & Entertainment is trying to contract players with an initial payment of $1,500, and potentially additional revenue sharing based on game sales. EA has yet to express any opinions regarding Pathway’s proposed plans.
