Pokemon Champions Is A New Stadium-Style 3D Battle Game Coming To Switch

Although it doesn’t bear the same title as Pokemon Stadium, Pokemon Champions appears to be a fresh addition to the combat-centric franchise. This exciting new game was unveiled during today’s Pokemon Presents live broadcast on Nintendo Switch and mobile platforms.

Game Freak has outlined the development of Pokemon Champions, but it’s The Pokemon Works who will be handling the actual production. Established last year, this studio has worked alongside Pokemon Home in the past. One key objective for Pokemon Champions is to attract a broader range of players. In this upcoming combat-centric game, you’ll find mechanisms similar to those in Pokemon, including type systems, abilities, and attacks. This setup encourages a wide range of strategic possibilities, appealing to both novice and seasoned players.

In Pokemon Champions, there’s a special feature that allows for compatibility with Pokemon Home. This enables you to transfer some of your cherished Pokemon from various games such as Pokemon Go, along with the newly announced games, Scarlet and Violet, right into your gameplay.

According to The Pokemon Company, you’ll soon be able to engage in battles with trainers worldwide, regardless of whether they are using a Pokemon game on their Nintendo Switch or mobile device. This means that players on different platforms can interact with each other, which is an exciting feature known as cross-platform compatibility. At the moment, there isn’t a set release date for this new update.

At Pokemon Presents, there was more than just the announcement of Pokemon Champions. In fact, a new trailer and release window were unveiled for Pokemon Legends Z-A, and additional Pokemon are expected to be added to Pokemon Unite within the upcoming months.
