Destiny 2 Palindrome God Roll Flaw Revealed: Avoid This Combo

Right now, the Palindrome is prominently showcased as the Nightfall weapon in Destiny 2, and many gamers are working hard to acquire it. However, it’s been discovered that one of the most widely sought-after divine builds for this weapon should actually be shunned.

Among all other combinations on the revamped Palindrome weapon, the pairing of Explosive Payload and Master of Arms is the second most frequently chosen. It surpasses every other option except for the combination of Explosive Payload and Rolling Storm, which is ideal for Arc-based builds.

In most cases, you’d likely consider the initial roll to be the superior choice overall. However, a bug is interfering with its functioning as expected.

According to data analyst MossyMax’s findings, these benefits don’t seem to work harmoniously together at all, as Explosive Payload only increases the damage by a mere 2% when combined with Master of Arms. Typically, this boost would be around 30% in PvE, implying that is virtually useless for this weapon.

I’d like to clarify that Master of Arms (MoA) does not enhance the detonation damage of Explosive Payload (EP), which results in a modest 2% increase compared to the base MoA. The same applies to Desperate Measures. Interestingly, when using Magnificent Howl, EP actually reduces your overall damage output.

Changing these benefits may not solve the problem either, because Explosive Payload performs poorly when used together with Magnificent Howl. In fact, this duo decreases the damage output, leaving you with limited alternatives.

Explosive Payload bug is bad news for Palindrome

Despite its legendary status and impressive stats, The Palindrome’s perk setup is not ideally suited for Player vs Environment (PvE), and a recent bug has further highlighted this incongruity.

Instead of relying on the Explosive Payload, consider utilizing Outlaw or Elemental Capacitor for certain subclasses as alternatives. While these options are not necessarily bad in themselves, it’s worth noting that they don’t quite fit into the current “meta” (popular and effective strategies).

If you aren’t particularly fond of Rolling Storm, The Palindrome might be tricky to justify using it. It would be wiser to create Nation of Beasts from Last Wish or even strive for a desirable Waking Vigil god roll through Dreaming City activities such as the Ascendant Challenge instead.
