Storm Reid Says Leaving ‘Euphoria’ Is ‘Bittersweet’ but Zendaya Is ‘My Sister for Life’: ‘I’m Sure We’ll Work Together Again’

Storm Reid won’t be rejoining the cast of “Euphoria” for Season 3, but it’s important to note that there’s absolutely nothing strained or negative between her and Zendaya.

Reid mentioned to me during the Time’s Women of the Year event at the West Hollywood Edition hotel on Tuesday, ‘My sister was like that before ‘Euphoria’, and she will be like that forever.’ Given their strong bond, he is confident they will collaborate again in some manner in the future.

She expressed that parting from the show was both joyful and sad, “Gia” being a character she deeply cherished. She enjoyed bringing Gia to life and felt privileged to have done so. She’s genuinely thrilled about Season 3, confident they will create something exceptional and it will be excellent.

There was some doubt for a while whether Season 3 would materialize, given that it’s been since the previous season aired on HBO. However, network executive Casey Bloys confirmed in November that filming would commence in January. In November, HBO also shared a sneak peek of the new season featuring Zendaya reprising her role as Rue.

Many of the original actors such as Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, and Eric Dane are set to reappear. However, Reid and Barbie Ferreira, who had been part of the cast, announced their departure in April 2022. Sadly, Angus Cloud, known for his role as Fezco, passed away at the age of 25 in July 2023.

Currently, Reid is working on the film titled “Get Lite,” at Paramount. This will be Teyana Taylor’s first time directing a movie. Reid explained, “We’ve been missing a good dance movie for quite some time now, and ‘Get Lite’ aims to fill that gap.” He further added, “The film is set in Harlem and truly embodies the essence of New York. It’s not just about breakdancing and performing cool tricks; it’s much more than that.

With all the various dance styles involved in mastering light moves, I really should enroll in choreography lessons right away. As of now, I’m not quite there, but I’m determined to reach that level.

After college comes next, and Reid is set to graduate from USC this year. “I’ve only got two months left, and I’m past it,” she said. “I’m simply chomping at the bit to be finished, which seems odd because I adore being in school so much. However, as you know, I’m not a wide-eyed 18-year-old girl anymore, and the campus doesn’t seem quite as picturesque. I wander around, thinking, ‘I don’t recognize these people strolling around.’ But you know, returning to work is what excites me most.

At the Time event, Reid had the honor of presenting the Women of the Year Award to Avery Colvert, the young founder of Altadena Girls, who is only 14 years old.

In addition to Nicole Kidman, Olivia Munn was also recognized for her efforts advocating for breast cancer awareness. This recognition came after she bravely battled the disease in April 2023. Over the course of five surgeries, she underwent procedures such as a lymph node removal, double mastectomy, and hysterectomy.
