Smash Pro’s Wild Celebration Sparks Outrage and Gun Threats!

As an avid fan, I’ve been following the heated discussions surrounding a top-tier Super Smash Bros. Ultimate player whose recent victory celebration has stirred up quite a storm within the community. Unfortunately, this passionate display of triumph has led to some extreme reactions, with threats even going as far as gun threats. It’s a sad turn of events that such intense competition can sometimes escalate beyond the boundaries of good sportsmanship.

On February 23rd, Wario and Steve clinched the top spot, alongside Laurent ‘savory crepe’ Vorburger, in the gamescom LAN x CGN Open tournament held in Cologne, Germany.

As I stormed through the tournament, I squared off against my fellow Frenchman, Arda ‘Raflow’ Imrek. Securing the victory, I let out a celebration that sparked some controversy, but hey, every up-and-coming gamer needs a little flair!

Following Raflow’s final stock, crepe salee aggressively struck the tabletop with his controller, causing the Nintendo Switch to power down. Subsequently, he gave a disrespectful gesture towards his defeated rival and leaped exuberantly into the air in victory.

It’s not unusual for Smash players to excessively use pop-offs, but this tactic irritated some gamers so much that they responded negatively, leading to one passionate fan even issuing gun threats.

Smash pro’s big win sparks gun threat

Discussion erupted online after videos emerged showing Crêpe Salée’s victory celebration, with people debating if such jubilations were appropriate under the circumstances.

After Smash commentator TKbreezy posted the video, a spectator labeled the celebration as “aggressive,” sparking additional discussion.

TKbreezy proposed that it’s likely nothing more than an annoying interruption, and at the very most, it should only receive a warning.

At his age, why even issue a warning for misconduct? He’d be in trouble if he’d done that to someone else, because I would have retaliated physically.

At his advanced age, why issue a warning for misconduct? If he had acted that way towards someone else, he’d have likely faced serious consequences. To be honest, a disqualification seems fitting as a punishment, or if one is already in the losing group, then they should leave.

As a gamer, I faced a wave of criticism myself when my victory celebration sparked fears that crêpe salée might be targeted due to the attention it brought him.

“Wanting to punch someone ’cause of that makes you way more psycho than anyone there,” one stated.

EloSmash retorted, “Since I’m known for my unconventional behavior. If you attended school with me, you’d be aware of the numerous altercations I’ve had.

In a more casual, friendly tone, it could be rephrased as: “lol, I guess that’s why they used to call me ‘the class troublemaker’!” This implies that the person was often involved in conflicts or mischief, which might suggest being unconventional or spirited.

In response to the ongoing conversation, EloSmash shared a video featuring a firearm as a threat towards the person he was engaging in dialogue.

He playfully taunted, “Let me discover where you reside, this is hilarious,” and followed it up with a warning, alleging that he had shown a replica gun. “Prove your confidence by standing before it if you genuinely think it’s not real.

The video of this gun incident rapidly spread online, accumulating more than half a million views within just one day. It even caught the eye of a well-known figure, Crêpe Salée, who was astonished to discover that his celebration had stirred up such a significant amount of turmoil.

“My face when I see the origin of the confusion WOW,” he said.

It’s unclear whether EloSmash is a well-known figure’s secondary account or an individual who doesn’t regularly participate in tournaments. Consequently, they haven’t been penalized or banned from any events as of now.

It’s not the initial occurrence that a commotion has happened during a Smash gathering. Way back in 2023, a competitor using Daisy resorted to physical violence against his rival following his elimination from the competition.
