LOL Players Rejoice: 50% Off All Champions in Patch 25.05!

In simpler terms, “Blue Essence” is a type of free money within League of Legends, which you get just by playing the game frequently. This currency can be used to purchase new characters, or Champions, to play. Earlier, buying new Champions could be quite pricey for beginners, but there’s going to be a significant drop in prices soon, making things much more budget-friendly.

According to the latest Riot Development Update, starting from March 5 with Patch 25.05, it’s been decided that the cost of all Champions in Blue Essence will be cut by half. This change is primarily aimed at assisting newcomers in the game.

They mentioned that this alteration is particularly beneficial for novice players as it expands their collection of champions, thereby making the game easier to understand and ultimately contributing to League’s long-term success.

The champions, such as Ambessa and Aurora, will be accessible at a cost of 3150 Blue Essence (BE). This move is part of a series of adjustments aimed at appeasing a community that has grown progressively discontent with the changes Riot Games had introduced in 2025 up to this point.

The return of Hextech Chests and the Blue Essence Emporium

In the latest update from the developer, it has been revealed that Hextech Chests will return in Patch 25.05, set for release on March 5th. From Act 2 onwards, players can potentially collect up to ten Chests throughout an Act. Eight of these will be earned via the free Seasonal Pass, while the remaining two can be obtained through the Honor system.

The developer made it clear that the returning treasure chests would essentially mirror the ones players had earlier obtained via Champion Mastery.

Furthermore, Your Shop is set to make a comeback in update 25.06, followed by the reappearance of the Blue Essence Emporium in update 25.07.

In wrapping up, Riot Games stated that these multiple updates to several game systems are as follows: [Here follows the details of the changes]

As our discussion comes to a close, let’s make it clear that reaching the optimal state for League isn’t solely dependent on one round of modifications. It requires persistent fine-tuning and advancements. Today’s updates mark an essential milestone, and we’ll closely monitor their impact, engage with you all about your experiences, and make necessary adjustments accordingly.
