With the Tales of Agrabah update, Disney Dreamlight Valley introduced a significant enhancement for user convenience – the Slow Cooker.
Managing the Valley can be quite challenging, what with tending gardens, fishing, socializing with villagers, and preparing meals all part of your daily routine. It’s not surprising that the Oasis Retreat Star Path emphasizes tranquility and relaxation in its theme.
Thanks to the convenience of a Slow Cooker, you can cross one task from your to-do list since it allows for passive cooking while you focus on urgent matters in the Valley.
How to unlock the Slow Cooker in DDV
As a gamer, I’d say: “To grab the Slow Cooker in DDV, you need to finish the quest ‘Slow and Steady’, which Tiana gives out once you’ve updated to the Tales of Agrabah expansion. The quest involves cooking three Gumbo meals using the Slow Cooker and then returning them to Tiana.
Step 1: Speak to Tiana to receive the Slow Cooker & Gumbo recipes
Initially, I’d suggest navigating the map to find Tiana, marking her current position to embark on our adventure. Keep a close eye on her movements and eventually, engage in conversation to discover that she needs assistance in mastering the art of batch cooking.
First, grab the Gumbo recipe from your inventory, specifically the blue book labeled ‘Gumbo Recipe’. Subsequently, make your initial Slow Cooker to follow the recipe.
Step 2: Craft a Slow Cooker
To craft the Slow Cooker, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- 2500 Dreamlight: Obtained by completing Dreamlight duties, Milestone tasks, and crafted via Dream Shards.
- 6 Iron Ingot: Crafted with 5 Iron Ore and 1 Coal Ore.
- 2 Tinkering Parts: Crafted with 2 Iron ingots.
- 20 Hardwood: Foraged in the Sunlit Plateau, Forest of Valor, Glade of Trust, and Frosted Heights.
After collecting all necessary materials, make your way to the closest workstation, choose the “Functional Items” category, then opt for the “Slow Cooker” recipe.
Step 3: Cook three Gumbo and wait
To use the Slow Cooker, you must first select the ingredients:
- 2 Okra: Grown from Okra Seeds, which Goofy sells in his Glade of Trust Stall.
- 2 Shrimp: Caught by fishing in the white ripples in Dazzle Beach.
- 2 Chili Peppers: Grown from Chili Pepper seeds, which Goofy sells in his Sunlit Plateau Stall.
- 2 Tomatoes: Grown from Tomato seeds, which Goofy sells in his Dazzle Beach Stall.
- 2 Onions: Grown from Onion seeds, which Goofy sells in his Forest of Valor Stall.
With the handy Cooking Filter at your disposal, you’re able to search for a Gumbo recipe and have the necessary ingredients automatically chosen for you.
Step two involves choosing the number of Gumbo plates you’d like to prepare. To finish the recipe named ‘Slow and Steady’, you’ll require three dishes. Each dish will take approximately 4 minutes, so feel free to continue with your tasks in the Valley while they cook. You might as well start on some Star Path tasks until the Slow Cooker finishes its job.
