Longvinter console release. Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox ports explained

Following a three-year stint in early access, Longvinter has now been officially launched as version 1.0, allowing players to experience the completed game. This nearly comforting survival title is definitely worth exploring, but for now, it’s exclusive to PC systems. As for consoles such as PS5, PS4, Xbox, and Switch, there seems to be no news on their availability at this time.

Longvinter – Console (PS5, PS4, Xbox and Switch) release explained

The game titled Longvinter was released for PC (through Steam) on February 21, 2025. At present, it’s exclusive to this platform, often referred to by the community as a gun-toting version of Animal Crossing. However, this will not remain the case forever. In their post celebrating the 1.0 release, the developers revealed that the game is set to come out on PlayStation in 2026.

I’m equally thrilled to share that our game is set to launch on PlayStation in the coming year! This means that players across various platforms can enjoy cross-play, preventing us from having two isolated player communities and maximizing the number of participants.

It’s unclear which devices the game Longvinter will be compatible with. However, it’s quite likely that PS5 and PS5 Pro users can play this game. As for PS4, the chances seem to be significantly lower. Yet, remember that new games are still being developed for the PS4, so keep your fingers crossed.

It seems that as of now, details about Xbox and Switch versions of the game remain unknown. Given that the PlayStation version has been confirmed, it’s likely that currently, there are no plans to release the game on these platforms. However, it’s possible that the developers may decide to do so in the future.
