Why Zac Prince’s New Job at Galaxy Digital is the Plot Twist We Didn’t See Coming!

What to know:

  • Zac Prince has joined Galaxy Digital as a managing director. (Yes, that Zac Prince.)
  • He’ll be working closely with the company’s president, Chris Ferraro, to expand the firm’s crypto offering. Because who doesn’t want more crypto, right? 💸

In a shocking twist that could only be rivaled by a daytime soap opera, Michael Novogratz’s Galaxy Digital (GLXY) has decided to hire Zac Prince as a managing director. Apparently, they didn’t get the memo about his previous gig at BlockFi, which, let’s just say, went up in flames faster than my New Year’s resolutions.

Prince will be working hand-in-hand with Galaxy’s President, Chris Ferraro, to expand the company’s digital assets offering. I can only imagine the brainstorming sessions: “What if we just throw more money at it?” 💰

According to the memo (which I’m sure was written on a napkin), Galaxy believes that crypto is entering a “pivotal era of transformation.” Translation: “We have no idea what’s happening, but let’s hire someone who might!”

Before this, Prince was the CEO of a real estate advisory firm called RE Cost Seg. I guess they figured if he could navigate the wild world of real estate, he could surely handle the rollercoaster that is cryptocurrency.

And let’s not forget, Prince is a household name in the industry—if your household is filled with crypto enthusiasts. He’s the former CEO and co-founder of BlockFi, which, as we all know, is now a cautionary tale for aspiring crypto moguls everywhere.

In a move that can only be described as “let’s see what sticks,” Galaxy also hired former Point72 chief financial officer Anthony Paquette to serve in the same role at the crypto financial services firm last December. Because if you’re going to gamble, you might as well go all in!
