Dark Souls 3 Seamless Co-Op Mod Lets You And Your Friends Fight To The End

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but marvel at how From Software’s Dark Souls 3 continues to captivate the franchise’s community, even as fires of other games fade almost a decade after its initial release. While Dark Souls 3 does offer co-op play, it’s rather restricted within the core game. To address this, a talented modder known as Yui has been diligently working on a Dark Souls 3 Seamless Co-op Mod, now available in its alpha stage.

You can discover the seamless co-op modification for Dark Souls 3 on Nexus Mods, but be aware that Yuri mentions, “If you’re seeking a bug-free adventure, this version may not provide it.” However, what you will uncover is the opportunity to journey through the entire game alongside your friends, free from the limitations that were initially imposed in Dark Souls 3’s initial launch.

In this modification, a player won’t be eliminated when they die; instead, they’ll reappear in the same realm at the last bonfire where they took a rest. Moreover, players no longer get separated back to their individual realms after defeating bosses or completing areas. This mod also unites player worlds by allowing progress made during online sessions to affect all participants’ games, and by synchronizing NPC dialogue sequences. As many as six players can participate in a collaborative campaign, and they can work together to reach the game’s conclusion.

Yuri observes that having numerous participants significantly simplifies the game, and this is why the mod offers adjustable difficulty levels for tougher settings. If players perish in a boss encounter or an attack by external players, they won’t be able to re-enter the fray until either every player has been defeated or one of them takes a break at a bonfire.

Previously, Shuhei Yoshida, a former head at PlayStation, disclosed that From Software opted out of collaborating with Sony on Dark Souls due to dissatisfaction with how they were handled during Demon’s Souls development. Despite this, From Software went on to achieve even greater acclaim with Elden Ring. However, the company hasn’t forgotten its past. Enemies reminiscent of Dark Souls will feature in their upcoming title, Elden Ring: Nightreign. Unlike their previous games, From Software has decided to make Nightreign a cooperative experience right from the start.
