13 New Stars Join Richard Gadd’s ‘Half Man’ HBO/BBC Series – Secrets Unveiled!

The upcoming HBO and BBC drama titled “Half Man,” a sequel to the critically acclaimed Emmy winner “Baby Reindeer” starring Richard Gadd, has completed its cast lineup. Joining Gadd and his co-star Jamie Bell will be Mitchell Robertson, Stuart Campbell, Neve McIntosh, Marianne McIvor, and several others.

In the series currently being filmed in Scotland, Gadd and Bell (“All of Us Strangers,” “Rocket Man”) portray siblings Ruben and Niall who are out of touch. Robertson (“Curfew”) takes on the role of a younger Niall, while Campbell (“Rogue Heroes”) plays a younger Ruben. McIntosh (“Doctor Who”) stars as Lori, Niall’s mother, and McIvor (“Lady Chatterley’s Lover”) is cast as Maurum, Ruben’s mother.

The series’ logline is as follows: “At Niall’s wedding, an unexpected appearance by his presumed brother Ruben ignites a chain of violent events. The narrative takes us through their lives over nearly four decades, from their teenage encounter to their adult estrangement. We will witness all the ups and downs of their relationship, including its good times, bad, terrible, amusing, angry, and challenging moments. It seeks to portray the dynamic energy of a city in transformation – a world in flux – and delve into the complex question… What does it truly mean to be a man?

In the creation, writing, and executive production roles for “Half Man,” Gadd takes on multiple tasks, also starring in the series. Joining Gadd as executive producers are Tally Garner and Morven Reid from Mam Tor Productions (a Banjilay UK company), Gaynor Holmes for the BBC, and Gavin Smith for BBC Scotland. The directorial duties will be shared by Alexandra Brodski (“Somewhere Boy,” “Rivals”) and Eshref Reybrouck (“Ferry: The Series,” “Cheyenne & Lola”), while Wendy Griffin (“Limbo,” “The Lost King”) handles production. The show will be filmed in Scotland.

The series ‘Half Man’ is produced by Mam Tor Productions and airs on HBO, BBC iPlayer, BBC One, and BBC Scotland. Distributing it internationally excluding the U.K., Ireland, and U.S. is handled by Banijay Rights. Screen Scotland provides support for its production.
