Although death isn’t typically a desired element in a TV series, it unfortunately occurs. Fire Country hasn’t shied away from peril, but in Season 3, they are tackling the most significant demise of all characters.
If you haven’t seen Fire Country yet, it might seem quite intense at first. However, this popular television series is not just about despair; it centers around a correctional program where inmates learn to control wildfires as part of their rehabilitation process.
Today, Bode is the center of attention, navigating a challenging path in life. He’s been making strides, even if not always the best ones, at Station 42 and has found a connection with his love interest, Audrey. However, everything is set to take an unexpected turn.
I can’t help but feel my heart racing as I dive deeper into Fire Country Season 3! It seems like the creators are pulling out all the stops, exploring Bode’s deepest, unresolved past traumas. Plus, the unexpected demise of a character has left me absolutely stunned! This season is truly shaking things up and keeping me on the edge of my seat!
Riley’s death will send Bode spiraling in Fire Country Season 3
After three full seasons, Bode’s younger sister Riley’s demise will at last be brought up – which isn’t a positive sign for Bode.
In the thrilling 12th episode of Fire Country Season 3, events took an unexpected turn as my character, Walter, received a life-altering diagnosis. This revelation seemed to erase the memory of Riley’s tragic demise from his mind. It got so confusing that I, Walter, even mistook Audrey for Riley when she was at the Leone residence! The tension that’s been simmering since the very beginning of this journey bubbled over, making the atmosphere more intense than ever.
Audrey often hangs out with Walter, as she listens to him guide Bode and Riley on mastering poker or baseball, respectively.
The events unfolding serve as a stark reminder that the Leones are yet to heal from Riley’s passing, and Walter seems to be the triggering factor, resurfacing their shared grief. As early as Season 1, Episode 8, we witnessed the family fragmented due to this tragedy, with Vince harboring blame towards Bode for Riley’s demise.

Later on, Sharon discovers that Vince was responsible for making Bode flee in the first place, which ultimately led to their reunion, causing Riley to take a back seat. Two seasons later, the family gets an opportunity to mourn collectively, but things won’t be easy going.
Bode’s abilities as a firefighter have raised concerns, but revisiting Riley’s death could plunge him into a deep depression. His personal issues at home are persistent, and his efforts to save Rafael with Jake haven’t improved the situation. Facing something he’s kept hidden for so long might be the final straw that pushes him to the brink.
How did Riley die in Fire Country?
Riley died before Fire Country even began, dying in a car crash after being dumped by Jake.
After her birthday party, Bode walked her home, and this is why he’s harboring such deep sorrow and remorse. Since he was behind the wheel, it explains Vince’s reaction towards both his child and sibling.
Bode departed Edgewater because Vince had instructed him to avoid the town following certain events, a fact we’ve already suggested. Meanwhile, Sharon was oblivious to her husband’s words on the night Riley died, which she later recalled as the night she lost both of her children.
For the past two seasons, Bode has been plagued with disturbing dreams, indicating a buildup of intense emotions that will likely burst forth during the remaining episodes of Fire Country Season 3.
