When Calls the Heart Season 12 Hides a Secret Pregnancy for Faith

In Season 12 of When Calls the Heart, the upcoming generation takes center stage, yet one infant’s presence seems entirely unexpected or unwarranted.

It could be said that it was primarily the small townsfolk who provided the impetus for When Calls the Heart to come into being. Prior to her marriage with Thornton, Elizabeth Thatcher set foot in Hope Valley with a modest ambition of becoming an educator, and since then, she’s single-handedly revolutionized the local education system.

She’s encouraged Allie to step out of her comfort zone, as she boldly confronted Lucas and the Cattlemen’s Association in the latest episodes, all while ensuring that Little Jack remains true to his father’s character.

However, suppose a child unintentionally becomes part of the group. In that case, there’s one who seems to be among them openly but actually shouldn’t be present.

If Faith looks pregnant in When Calls the Heart Season 12, she isn’t

In Season 12 of When Calls the Heart, Faith hasn’t appeared much, but when she does, there are clear indications suggesting she might be pregnant. However, this is a misdirection as Faith isn’t actually pregnant – the show is trying to conceal actress Andrea Brooks’ recent pregnancy.

Brooks has been chronicling her experiences on Instagram, posting, “Observe me growing a baby while filming Season 12 (it’s important to clarify that my character isn’t pregnant).” During the show’s premiere, she mentioned this. Later, she revealed, “There might have been instances where I had to pin my costumes together with safety pins towards the end…

The videos display the development of her baby bump beneath her outfit, with her giving birth in November 2024 – mere weeks following the conclusion of When Calls the Heart filming. Alongside sharing news about baby Angus’ arrival, fellow actors also extended their congratulations to Brooks for avoiding labor on set.

Fans may recall that Brooks found herself in a similar predicament before, concealing her second pregnancy while shooting Season 10.

Our talented costumer @costumearchivista put together a presentation of Faith’s consistency photos from Season 10 (essentially backstage pictures used as costume guides). This was to demonstrate how we concealed my pregnancy in 2022, which she shared on Instagram.

Throughout Season 12, we’ve been using these photos frequently, as once more, we find ourselves on ‘bump patrol.’ The props are getting larger with each passing episode. I can’t wait to see how the continuity shots turn out this time. A big shoutout goes to our fantastic wardrobe, camera, and prop teams who never fail to keep me busy!

In Episode 8, Fiona requested Faith to serve as her maid of honor during her upcoming wedding. However, that very wedding was cancelled. Instead, the townsfolk of Hope Valley bid farewell to Fiona, as she embarked on a fresh radio career in Port Townsend.
