Patrick Schwarzenegger Says ‘It’s Frustrating’ People Think He Got ‘White Lotus’ Role Due to Dad Arnold: ‘I’ve Had 10 Years of Acting Classes’ and ‘Hundreds of Rejected Auditions’

Patrick Schwarzenegger, son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, expressed disappointment to The Sunday Times about being labeled a “nepo baby” despite the critical success of “The White Lotus” Season 3. Currently starring in HBO’s Emmy-winning series, he is capturing attention for his role as Saxton Ratliff, a privileged son of a corporate criminal who charms excessively and doesn’t shy away from nudity while sharing a hotel room with his younger brother.

Schwarzenegger acknowledged that some might claim his success is due to his family connections. However, he pointed out that he’s invested over a decade in acting classes, performed regularly in school plays, meticulously crafted his characters, and endured countless rejections during auditions. Despite the occasional frustration and feeling constrained, he admitted there were moments when he wished he didn’t share his last name. But these fleeting sentiments don’t overshadow the hard work and dedication he’s put into his career.

Schwarzenegger stated that he would not swap his life with anyone else’s. He feels incredibly grateful for the life, family, and parents he has, appreciating the lessons and values they have passed down to him.

As a devoted film enthusiast, I’ve always been my own man, refusing to bask in the reflected glory of my famous last name. Recently, I shared with People magazine my ongoing commitment to weekly acting classes, which I believe are essential for me to keep learning and evolving as a performer. Interestingly, it was observing my father’s career that initially sparked my passion for acting.
