Keshet Embarks on ‘Massive Adventure’ with Thriller ‘Unconditional,’ About a Mother Looking For Her Daughter and Finding Herself

In this year’s London TV Screenings, Keshet aims to entice viewers with their biggest project yet, “Unconditional”. However, creators Adam Bizanski and Dana Idisis began modestly with a story centered around a mother whose daughter is arrested. This ordinary woman has never ventured far from her neighborhood before, but now she embarks on an extraordinary journey to find her child.

In the gripping thriller, produced by Spiro Films and directed by Jonathan Gurfinkle, a mother-daughter vacation turns sour when 25-year-old Gali is arrested for drug smuggling during a layover in Moscow. But Orna refuses to abandon hope for her daughter.

Bizanski acknowledges that the story may bring comparisons to Liam Neeson’s “Taken”, but notes that following a mother instead of a vengeful father brings a fresh perspective to the narrative. Orna’s husband, who suffers from early-onset dementia, is often unaware that their daughter is missing, leaving Orna completely alone in her quest.

Idisis expresses her attraction to the female character, stating that both she and Bizanski, despite his masculine appearance, are connected to their feminine side. As Orna’s journey becomes increasingly complex, she must confront the uncomfortable truth: she doesn’t truly know her daughter.

Orna discovers that her daughter is not as timid and shy as she believed, leading her to find strength in this newfound realization. The show, filmed in India, Georgia, and Israel, spans various global locations. Orna must navigate bureaucracy, pressure politicians, reach out to the press, and travel to places she never thought she would visit.

The creators envision international potential for “Unconditional”. Bizanski expresses his desire to create content that will resonate globally, stating that the story is universal in nature.
