Kai Cenat expressed his annoyance about Twitch’s recent adjustment in VODs, as it could potentially delete more than 500 hours of his saved live streams and highlights.
Over the past couple of years, several contenders have emerged to challenge Twitch’s dominant position, causing the platform (which is owned by Amazon) to make some adjustments in various aspects.
These improvements and adjustments haven’t always been met with approval from streamers, regardless of their size. Some of the suggested modifications have sparked such strong opposition that Twitch has had to reconsider and abandon their plans.
As a gamer, I’ve noticed that Twitch has made some changes concerning VODs – the videos we can watch on demand. Previously, streamers like me had unlimited storage for our old streams and highlights. But now, Twitch is putting a cap at 100 hours on this.
Twitch’s VOD change frustrates Kai Cenat
This adjustment has faced strong opposition so far. Notably, speedrunners are warning that they might shift to YouTube to prevent the loss of their accomplishments.
Kai Cenat expressed displeasure about the modification as well. During his Batman broadcast, he exclaimed, “Hold on a minute, chat, I’m not sugarcoating this, it says my storage is full?” This news left him puzzled. “Dude, what? Why do VODs require storage?” he wondered.
It seems there’s a restriction – they’re only allowing 100 hours of highlights and uploads. However, I have accumulated 561 hours of footage! Can’t help but wonder why this limitation was put in place?
Kai Cenat finds himself displeased over Twitch’s recent update on storage, as it might result in the loss of up to 500 hours of his previously recorded stream content. 😔

Similar to numerous popular streamers, Kai frequently shares his live-stream recordings on YouTube as a means for followers to watch them later. Yet, YouTube tends to remove videos containing copyrighted music or content, an issue that Kai encounters frequently due to his regular use of such materials.
Twitch, instead, will mute the VOD when music is being played.

Due to the negative response to the recent changes, there’s a possibility that the Amazon-controlled platform may need to revise their approach. However, only time will tell if they decide to make such adjustments.
