MOUZ Smashes Falcons at PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 Finale

2025 saw me and fellow Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) enthusiasts flocking to Romania’s BT Arena from February 21st to 23rd, as we eagerly waited to witness the Playoffs stage of the PGL Cluj-Napoca event. With a massive live audience, we found ourselves on the edge of our seats, cheering for the world’s top teams vying for the whopping $1.25 million prize pool!

To reach the Grand Final, MOUZ advanced from the Group Stage and defeated Brazilian team paiN Gaming in their Quarterfinals Playoff match with a 2-0 score. They then outplayed Astralis in the Semifinals, securing a 2-1 win, where the first map required extra time to determine the winner.

Across the bracket, Team Falcons had much to demonstrate with their newly formed superteam. Indeed, they showcased their prowess to both the live audience and viewers at home, triumphing over Turkish team Eternal Fire with a score of 2-1, and subsequently outperforming FaZe Clan in a decisive 2-0 sweep.

In the Grand Final of PGL Cluj-Napoca, although both teams appeared equally skilled, the storyline was different. On their map choice of Dust2, MOUZ quickly gained an advantage with an 8-4 lead in the CT side and then sealed their victory decisively with a score of 13-6.

On the map named Mirage, which was MOUZ’s initial choice, Team Falcons displayed remarkable resilience, amassing an impressive 10-2 advantage in the CT side. They eventually concluded the map with a commanding 13-4 victory, showcasing their superiority throughout the game.

MOUZ didn’t let one map rattle them, and they rebounded powerfully on Nuke with a robust first half (9-3). Falcons put up a tough fight, but MOUZ eventually emerged victorious 13-11, avoiding Overtime and taking a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five championship series.

In the fourth match, MOUZ gained an early advantage in the first half, similar to many games throughout the series. With Ludvig “Brollan” Brolin leading as their new in-game commander, they managed a convincing 13-9 victory. As a result, they took home the trophy by winning the final game with a score of 3-1.

heartfelt congratulations to MOUZ for triumphing at the PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 tournament in an impressive and commanding manner; also, kudos to the standout rifleman of Team Falcons, Nikola “NiKo” Kovač, who claimed his inaugural MVP title with their fresh lineup.
