But if he doesn’t, prepare for a confrontation as it might lead to a fight, and you need to overcome everyone involved.

Once that’s done, speak with Ruthard, and he will enlighten you on how to save Capon. He will request you to converse with his daughter, Rosa, about a hidden path, as she has more knowledge about it.

Before the tree stands, there’s a spot perfect for digging to uncover a hidden tunnel. Once you’re inside, carry a light source, and before long, you’ll find a ladder. Descend the ladder and keep moving forward through the tunnel. As you progress, you’ll encounter a door. Go ahead and open it, and up ahead will be a wall that can be broken down.

Following the demolition of the wall, squeeze your way through and discover another entrance, and a cinematic sequence will unfold. Once the sequence concludes, locating Hans Capon will prove challenging as you don’t have the necessary keys at hand.

How To Save Hans Capon

Head towards the location where, on your right side, there stands a small cottage. Inside that cottage, you’ll encounter the cook. Duck down and move stealthily behind her. Gently incapacitate her and retrieve all the keys she has. This action will allow you to bypass any door-lock picking, making your journey much smoother and the quest significantly easier.

Here’s your guidance: Leave the hut now and follow the path on your right side. Remember to stay low as you move, especially if there’s a guard patrolling ahead. If you encounter one, silently take him down from behind. Then, veer left and ascend the stairs. This tower is where Hans is being held; use the keys to unlock the door and enter inside.

Once that’s done, proceed through the door to your left and climb the stairs briefly. You’ll see two guards engaged in an argument with a woman, so bide your time until they wrap up. When the guards have finished, they will descend, therefore be sure to step back into the corridor and wait for them to enter the room.

If you don’t take the swords for Hans and Brabant ahead of time, you’ll have to do it later when you meet them. It would be wise to get the swords ready beforehand.

Once you’ve entered the room, look up and locate the door to your left. You’ll find Lady Ofka seated with her back turned, so the swords on the left-hand side of the room are yours for taking. Then, proceed up the stairs. Following this, make your way to the staircase and unfasten the door.

How To Escape With Hans And Brabant

Once your discussion concludes, Hans will move towards the window. Instead of confronting him directly, wait for a moment, then approach from behind and render him unconscious. If you’re unsuccessful, simply retreat and try again. After you’ve successfully knocked him out, gather his limp form and proceed to the hidden passageway. Brabant will tag along with you.

As a gamer, I always remember to clear the path to that hidden tunnel before grabbing Hans, because once I’ve got him slung over my shoulder, all I can do is move forward.
