In the gaming community of Overwatch, Bastion from Overwatch 2 has transformed into an intimidating powerhouse, obliterating opponents due to a particularly potent ability boost.
In Overwatch 2’s Season 15, an engaging feature called Hero Perks was introduced, enabling characters to progress and unlock additional skills during a game. This is the initial version of Hero Perks, which means that certain characters have more powerful perks while others have less potent ones.
Among the winners of this round, it was Bastion who received one of the most unusual advantages in the game. Now, Bastion wasn’t typically considered a character to toss aside, but he’s always been seen as quite specialized – which is why the idea of an overpowered tank like him sends shivers down the spines of the gaming community.
Bastion terrifies the community with an unlimited heal
In one of his primary Hero traits, Bastion gained a skill called “Self-Healing.” This skill, a carryover from Overwatch 1, allows Bastion to restore his health by pressing the ‘E’ key. Unlike in the initial game where it could heal for 90 Health Points per second, this skill is now regulated by a resource meter, preventing Bastion from healing indefinitely.
In Overwatch 2, Self-Repair has been enhanced significantly by eliminating the resource meter. This means that Bastion can keep healing himself indefinitely, making him incredibly difficult to defeat.
In simple terms, a popular post on Reddit highlighted an incredibly nerve-wracking ability that Bastion demonstrated by successfully enduring a fully energized attack from Zarya, all while relying solely on the support character, Mercy.
One user expressed astonishment, stating, “Leaving it off the resource counter is utterly irrational,” captivated by the indestructible Bastion.
They weren’t kidding when they said “rapidly heal yourself”

Together with other methods of healing, Bastion’s Self-Repair packs a powerful punch for sustaining health. Compared to Winston’s dealing of 70 damage per second (DPS), Bastion’s high healing per second (HPS) makes him virtually indestructible by Winston, as Winston cannot kill Bastion once he starts healing.
“It’s impossible for a Winston to kill you on his own,” wrote one user.

In a straightforward manner, there are several strategies to tackle Bastion’s healing capacity. Ana’s anti-healing ability stands out as the most apparent option, but Bastion’s DPS passive also eats into his healing capabilities. Moreover, while Bastion is busy repairing himself, he can’t dish out damage, providing your team with a perfect opportunity to attack him aggressively.
In the heat of an intense Overwatch battle, nothing beats the unexpected humor of Bastion’s self-repair ability! And let’s not forget about the absurdity of perks like Tracer’s six blinks or Torbjorn casually tossing his turret wherever he pleases. These quirky features have breathed new life into the game for me, making it feel fresh and exciting all over again.
