Rob Corddry, famously known for his roles in “Childrens Hospital” and “Bookie,” is planning to team up with AMC’s Silicon Valley production penned by Jonathan Glatzer of “Succession” and “Bad Sisters” fame. He will be working alongside stars Billy Magnussen from “Made for Love” and Sarah Goldberg from “Barry.
In this series, without a title yet, Corddry is one of the main cast members, portraying Tom Ruffage. The focus of the show revolves around a tech CEO, played by Magnussen, and his performance psychologist, portrayed by Goldberg. Previously, he was featured in Max’s comedy “Bookie,” produced by Chuck Lorre and starring Sebastian Maniscalco. Unfortunately, that series was recently terminated after completing two seasons.
Rob Corddry gained popularity for producing “Childrens Hospital,” a well-loved short-form series that found success on Adult Swim and won him four Emmys (and later led to the Netflix spinoff “Medical Police”). Apart from this, he shared screen time with Dwayne Johnson in “Ballers” on HBO. His resume also includes being a correspondent on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.” Additionally, he was one of the hosts for “Top Gear America,” and since 2023, he has been hosting the podcast “Amy Always Wins.
In the cinematic world, he has appeared in movies such as “Hot Tub Time Travel,” “The Extremely Courageous,” “Eighty for Brazil’s World Cup,” and soon, “Kissinger in Paris.
Regarding the Glatzer project, it originates from AMC Studios. Last June, AMC and its streaming counterpart AMC+ approved this drama for production. This marks the first series based on a show created by Glatzer. Alongside Glatzer, Gina Mingacci, known for “Killing Eve,” is another executive producer.
The show’s tagline is that it takes place within the confines of Silicon Valley, where there are misguided corporate environments, dreamy research labs, and competitive private schools. The series revolves around a scandal that originates from the abuse of personal data, stemming from a conflict between a self-proclaimed visionary tech CEO and his self-centered ‘performance psychologist.’ This act of corruption soon spirals out of control, affecting everyone involved, and sheds light on the absurdities of ambition, corporate morality, and the flaws of the individuals shaping our world’s future.
Corddry is repped by Buchwald, Artists First and Hansen Jacobsen.
