New release date for Tales of the Shire as the game gets delayed. Hobbits are running late again

It’s become commonplace for us by now; we expect news about the game we’ve eagerly anticipated, but it often gets delayed. That’s when everyone lets out a shared sigh of dismay. However, we understand the drill. If it’s pushed back, it simply means it’s not quite ready yet. It’s better to give it more time to bake properly than end up with a half-cooked product. In this instance, our friends from Bywater are spending a bit more time on it.

A Wizard is never late but what about a Hobbit?

To put it simply, although Hobbits are typically fond of routine and order, they aren’t always prompt according to human standards. Those eagerly anticipating Tales of The Shire last year experienced a delay, with the release pushed back to March 2025. Regrettably, the Weta Workshop team has disclosed that they require additional time “to guarantee that every Hobbit, on any platform, can indulge in the same comfortable experience,” and as a result, the premiere has been rescheduled for July 29th.

Some fans had anticipated this, given that no pricing or PC system specifications had been disclosed yet. Since the developers have shared their updates, it appears that the game itself is complete; they’re just facing challenges in adapting it for multiple platforms, which has resulted in delays. Here’s hoping we won’t have to wait much longer!

State of Decay, like several other highly anticipated games, is allegedly being moved to 2026. This delay coincides with the two new Far Cry releases. On a brighter note, Assassin’s Creed: Shadows has finally managed to set a release date after various obstacles, and inZOI remains on schedule for early access in March 2025. The enigma surrounding GTA 6 persists, and I must admit, I’m not expecting its launch this year.
