In a fresh twist, Episode 7 of Season 12 of When Calls the Heart was particularly perilous, and its appearance could have been drastically altered by its key characters.

By episode 7’s conclusion, they manage to pull off the deception, moving Nathan one step nearer to dismantling Toddy’s criminal organization.

The narrative is quite suspenseful, yet it seemed nearly unrecognizable in its initial form. Stars of When Calls the Heart, Erin Krakow and Kevin McGarry, shared that they advocated for a significant aspect to be altered.

Elizabeth and Nathan’s duet was nearly different in When Calls the Heart Season 12

During an appearance on The Edify Show, Krakow and McGarry disclosed that the tune which Elizabeth and Nathan harmoniously sang at the gathering – a significant aspect of their fabricated past – had initially been something entirely distinct.

According to McGarry’s explanation, ‘For Me And My Gal’ was the initial choice for the song. However, they discussed it being too quick, and it didn’t quite fit Nathan and Elizabeth’s narrative. Therefore, they opted for ‘You Made Me Love You’, which better represented their story.

In the episode, Nathan fills Elizabeth in on the current situation, revealing Toddy is crucial for the Great Train Robbery. He gives them a rundown of their shared past as dubious money traders, right before they’re escorted onto the dancefloor. Elizabeth acts like she’s drinking and flirts with Trudy to get more details, who seems to be doing the same with her.

At a later point, when Toddy enters the discussion, it seems that the narrative becomes clearer. Nathan recalls a genuine experience to convey how he fell in love with “Diane,” which leaves Elizabeth astonished. Later on, Nathan and Elizabeth perform a duet of ‘You Made Me Love You’, earning them a round of applause from the audience.
