Three months prior, the renowned horror author stated his departure from the same platform following Trump’s re-election as U.S. president. Since then, Stephen King has been active on Bluesky, which he now considers his social media home.
King returned with a message for his 6.8 million fans, saying, ‘I’m back!’ He also expressed his thoughts about Trump, stating, ‘I believe he’s a treacherous admirer of Putin.’ His feelings towards Elon were equally strong.
King first revealed his departure from Twitter on November 14, 2024, in a post stating: “I’m saying goodbye to Twitter. I gave it my best, but the environment here has grown too harsh. If you’re interested, find me on Threads instead.” Soon after, he garnered support on Bluesky, using this platform to continue his critical remarks about Trump.

On the night preceding the premiere of Osgood Perkins’ film “The Monkey,” King found himself back in X. At the moment, he is abstaining from publicizing the movie on social media but has been vocal about his criticisms towards Trump and Musk instead. In just four hours, his post garnered over 100,000 likes and continues to grow.
