In an interview on Monica Lewinsky’s “Reclaiming” podcast, Olivia Munn revealed that she declined a seven-figure settlement from a movie studio after she experienced traumatic events on the set around 2017. The studio offered her money to accept their apology, but it came with a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Munn refused to sign the NDA because she felt it was wrong, even though she didn’t want to discuss the movie. She was concerned that the studio might try to silence her by leaking information about the signed NDA, which could be misconstrued as her accepting the money only for the sake of it. Fortunately, California later ruled that NDAs regarding sexual assault or harassment are unenforceable.
Olivia Munn chose not to disclose the specific film set that led to a hefty million-dollar settlement due to traumatic experiences, but she has previously spoken out about incidents of sexual harassment and assault. In 2017, Munn was among the accusers against Brett Ratner, stating an incident involving him exposing himself in 2004. Additionally, she reported a registered sex offender to the producers of “Predator” in 2018.
