CBS has given the green light to nine shows for additional seasons: “Ghosts,” which received a two-season extension, as well as “Tracker,” “Fire Country,” the popular “NCIS” franchise (which includes “NCIS,” “NCIS: Origins,” and “NCIS: Sydney”), “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage,” “Elsbeth,” and “Hollywood Squares.
CBS’ 2025-2026 programming schedule will feature a selection of returning shows such as “Matlock,” “Survivor,” “The Amazing Race,” and “FBI,” along with some new additions. These include the “Fire Country” spinoff titled “Sheriff Country,” a potential spinoff of “Blue Bloods” named “Boston Blue” (tentatively), and a singing competition show called “The Road.
The revival of the sitcom ‘Ghosts’ will lead it into its sixth season, spanning the 2026-2027 television year. Created by CBS Studios in partnership with Lionsgate Television and BBC Studios Los Angeles Productions, the show boasts an average viewership of 11 million viewers across various platforms when considering viewing over a 35-day period. This data is compiled from Nielsen ratings and Paramount Global’s own stream data on Paramount+.
The popular show ‘Tracker’ has been brought back for a brand new season and currently holds the title as the highest-viewed entertainment series (excluding sports and news) on traditional TV. Over a period of 35 days, it attracts an average audience of 18 million viewers across various platforms.
After being renewed for a fourth season, the show titled ‘Fire Country’ has drawn an average of 10.6 million viewers on various platforms within a span of 35 days.
For the ongoing season of “NCIS,” which has been extended to Season 23, it’s attracting an average of 10.4 million viewers across all platforms within a 35-day period. Meanwhile, spinoffs such as “Origins” (now in its second season) and “Sydney” (starting its third season) have garnered approximately 9.2 million and 7 million viewers respectively.
The spin-off series titled “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage,” a derivative of “Young Sheldon,” has been given the green light for its second season. So far in its initial run, the first season has garnered an average viewership of 12.9 million viewers across all platforms over a 35-day period.
The TV series “Elsbeth,” which is a follow-up to “The Good Wife,” has been given the green light for a third season. On average, the second season, now playing, garners around 11 million viewers from various platforms within a span of 35 days.
The classic game show “Hollywood Squares,” which first appeared on NBC in the ’60s, has been revived and will return for its second season on CBS. Although a 35-day average viewership isn’t available yet (since it premiered in January), the 7-day average suggests that the estimated viewer count for a 35-day period could be approximately 5.4 million viewers.
CBS notes that more series orders and renewals are still to come.
During this current season, our fresh and recurring series are demonstrating CBS as the forefront in debuting and scheduling blockbuster hits that resonate with a wide audience on both traditional TV and streaming platforms,” commented Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. “These returning programs encompass a blend of established classics and emerging fan sensations. Working together with our exceptionally gifted team members in front of and behind the camera, we’re excited to bring you another winning season.
