In Design Home, not only can you tackle projects independently, but the game also offers an opportunity for you to shine as a DIY sensation, just like on HGTV! This is made possible through a fresh collaboration. To start, a Fixer to Fabulous crossover has commenced in the mobile version of the game. Coming soon are weekly challenges inspired by House Hunters, one of their most-watched shows.
Starting February 19, my game world got a makeover twist with Design Home’s collaboration titled “Fixer to Fabulous Crossover.” Every week, I’d dive into challenges named “Bentonville Beauty” and “Arkansas Amazement.” This partnership isn’t one-sided; in fact, the stars of Fixer to Faborlous, Dave and Jenny Marrs, will be joining me on their mobile game title on March 25!
There hasn’t been a specified date for the House Hunters challenges as of now, but EA assures they are coming soon. Furthermore, the company shares that Design Home has amassed 131 million players globally, and this HGTV collaboration isn’t the first partnership for the game. For instance, around a year ago, the renovation game collaborated with Sims Freeplay on a similar project.
In 2016, Design Home was introduced, not belonging to Electronic Arts (EA) at the time. However, this changed when EA purchased Glu Mobile for a staggering $2.1 billion in 2021, making Design Home part of their family. Despite being free-to-play, it offers in-app purchases. EA boasts about the authenticity of brands like West Elm and Pottery Barn, which players can use to decorate virtual rooms within the game.
