One particularly gruesome scene depicts a wounded child who is convulsing internally, followed by Sally Hawkins’ character striking her blood-stained hand against a pane of glass and emitting a heart-wrenching scream. In the distance, you can hear an eerie, groaning sound, reminiscent of Nicolas Cage’s character Longlegs in some ways.
