Peter Bogdanovich’s Final Film ‘Squirrels to the Nuts’ Released Digitally as Director’s Cut (EXCLUSIVE)

The studio Lionsgate recently made available a revised version of the last movie directed by the late Peter Bogdanovich, titled “Squirrels to the Nuts,” for streaming online.

The movie titled ‘Squirrels to the Nuts,’ which hit screens in 2014, was previously known as ‘She’s Funny That Way.’ This film was helmed by Peter Bogdanovich, who also collaborated with Louise Stratten on its screenplay. The star-studded cast includes Owen Wilson, Imogen Poots, Kathryn Hahn, Cybill Shepherd, Austin Pendleton, Will Forte, Joanna Lumley and Richard Lewis. Additionally, Jennifer Aniston and Rhys Ifans make appearances, as do cameos from Graydon Carter, Colleen Camp and George Morfogen.

Ron Schwartz, head of Lionsgate’s Motion Picture Group, declared that Peter Bogdanovich was an exceptional filmmaker of his time, who also excelled as a writer, actor, producer, and film historian. He noted that we at Lionsgate have a rich legacy of collaborating with prominent directors, and we are thrilled to share the last movie from this legendary figure. This version of ‘Squirrels to the Nuts’ is how Peter Bogdanovich envisioned it – a fully restored director’s cut that can be enjoyed on all digital platforms.

In 2022, a restored edition of the director’s cut was exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art. Frank Marshall, Adria Petty, and Bogdanovich’s relatives collaborated on this restoration process.

Bogdanovich, known for “The Last Picture Show” and “Paper Moon,” died at the age of 82 in 2022.
