Last week, we shared news about the final character trailers for “The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy-“, produced by XSEED Games. Now, to mark the start of the Steam demo, Aniplex has unveiled a story trailer for the game with an English dub.
Today’s demonstration of the Prologue will showcase data saving transfer for the upcoming game, which is scheduled for release on April 24, 2025. Please note that, as with all save transfers, Steam Deck users might need an additional PC to handle any complications that could arise from the Proton compatibility layer.
The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy– is another creation from the studio Too Kyo Games, led by Kazutaka Kodaka and Kotaro Uchikoshi. It draws inspiration from their previous works, particularly Danganronpa. In this game, players guide a band of students as they attempt to safeguard the Last Defense Academy for 100 days, hoping to resume their normal lives afterward. The release date is set for April 24, 2025, and it will be available on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
On February 18, 2025, Aniplex Inc., an entertainment company with various branches, in partnership with XSEED Games, an independent publishing brand under Marvelous USA, Inc., unveiled the first English trailer for The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy-. This trailer showcases the origins of the Special Defense Unit. Furthermore, Aniplex announced that pre-orders will soon be open on Steam for Windows PC in standard and Digital Deluxe versions priced at $59.99 and $69.99 respectively. The Digital Deluxe version comes with digital copies of the artbook and soundtrack. Pre-ordering the Steam version grants a free digital novel. Pre-orders are currently available for the standard and limited editions on Nintendo Switch via the Marvelous USA Online Store and other retailers, priced at $59.99 and $99.99 respectively. Details about the digital versions on Nintendo Switch for the Americas will be announced later.
In the newly released trailer, we see the journey of main character Takumi Sumino acquiring the power of Hemoanima from an enigmatic being called “Sirei”. Sirei chooses Takumi to protect a school under siege. With no other options, 14 students team up with Takumi, forming the Special Defense Unit, in an attempt to save their school during the 100-day conflict. The clip also hints at Shouma’s past as a child who was hospitalized and subjected to a mysterious apparatus at Kamukura General Hospital.
On April 24, 2025, The Hundred Line -Last Defense Academy- will be launched worldwide for both Nintendo Switch and Windows PC via Steam. In the Americas, the Nintendo Switch edition will be distributed by XSEED Games, featuring a physical release that offers two editions: a Standard Edition priced at $59.99 and a Limited Edition for $99.99. The latter includes various bonus items like an art book, CD soundtrack, acrylic diorama, metal pin, lenticular art card, printed novel, and 15 character cards. The digital version on Windows PC will be published globally by Aniplex, available for preorder in a Standard and Digital Deluxe edition, with the latter providing digital versions of the artbook and soundtrack for $59.99 and $69.99 respectively.
