In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, following the completion of The Sword and the Quill, your next mission is titled “Speak of the Devil.” Upon discovering that Margrave Jobst did not offer sanctuary to the Dry Devil, you will join forces with Zizka on a quest to locate this elusive figure.

Initially appearing formidable, The Dry Devil turns out to be captive. This upcoming mission promises laughter galore, yet it won’t shy away from a challenging segment. We’ll walk you through an effortless approach to conquer this quest.

Follow Zizka To The Devil’s Den

Following my encounter with Jobst during The Sword and The Quill quest, I found myself tagging along with Zizka for a spell, engaging in conversation as we went. Eventually, a prompt for quick travel became available. Given the length of the journey, it’s wise to take advantage of this feature. Once you arrive at the destination, prepare for a cutscene to unfold.

In the upcoming scene, some men are seen harassing an intoxicated individual, who happens to be Zizka’s friend. Prepare for a confrontation as you step in to defend him. Defeat your adversaries and then converse with Kubyenka. He will share the news that the Dry Devil has been apprehended.

Currently, our primary goal is to save him, and to accomplish that, you’ll need certain essential items. Kubyenka has hidden some hand cannons around his camp, but he’s forgotten their exact location. Therefore, you’ll need to track him for a while to locate the hidden weapons.

Follow Kubyenka To Find The Hand Canons

Mount your horse and ride alongside Kubyenka, chatting with him during the journey since it isn’t too long. Once we arrive at our destination, continue following Kubyenka until we reach his campsite. Since we’ll need to dig soon, it would be wise to gather a shovel from the camp if you don’t have one already.

Trust in Kubyenka’s lead, as he’ll guide you to a specific location. Remember, unearthing the hand cannons through digging won’t be fruitful – instead, engage him in conversation and move on to your next destination. Sooner rather than later, he will request that you fetch some liquor from the water. You have two choices: either comply with his request by picking option one, or choose not to act upon it by selecting option three.

Acquiring the liquor won’t pose a challenge or take long, so it’s wise to do so. Then, have a chat with Kubyenka and offer him a drink. Continue following him, as he will guide you to another location. Next, start digging, and this time, you’ll uncover a grave. You can gather some items from the deceased individual.

Continue the conversation with Kubyenka, as he’ll guide you to the correct location this time. Once there, begin your search, and you’ll uncover the hidden firearms. Next, climb aboard your horse and keep pace with him towards the ambush site. During your journey, Kubyenka will break into a powerful song – one you won’t forget easily.

The tune is quite amusing, so ensure he sings it and even compliment him; this will certainly add an intriguing twist to your trip.

How To Save The Dry Devil

At the designated hideout, engage in conversation with Zizka. He’ll inquire about your encounter with Kubyenka. Opt for the second choice, and you’re about to experience another amusing exchange. Following this light-hearted moment, Zizka will share his strategy for surprising the enemy, leading to a cinematic sequence.

Should you amass a significant number of abilities in any particular skill, success becomes more likely, causing certain opponents to retreat from the battlefield, thereby simplifying the struggle. Conversely, if you falter during the skill test, some of your comrades may abandon the scene, rendering the fight notably challenging.

1. In our battle, we’ll fire our fake cannons at the opponents, missing them every time, resulting in another laugh-out-loud moment.

2. Coming up next are three tests of skill, though if you’re not well-versed in any of them, we suggest picking the first one: “I will take a shot, right at your midsection!”

Use your equipped hand cannon to take out a few enemies. As Zizka and the others are busy fighting, go ahead and load your cannon and fire at the opponents. It’s worth mentioning that the knight in armor as well – aim for him with your hand cannon. This single shot should do the trick, but be cautious as the cannon reloads quite slowly.

Alrighty, it’s smarter to opt for the choice without the skill check challenge. Here’s the deal: Go ahead and engage the enemies, but keep an eye out for the heavily armored one. Try getting Zizka to handle him while you flank from behind. Once you’ve cleared ’em all, chat up Zizka, and select the prompt “Let’s move on,” and we’ll make our way to the Devil’s Den.

Once you’ve explored all dialogue possibilities and decide to aid Zizka and the Dry Devil, the current mission will be wrapped up. This action will grant you access to not one but two new quests: “Into the Underworld” and “The Devil’s Pack“. Feel free to tackle either quest first according to your preference.
