Chris Pine to Lead Texas Crime Thriller ‘Nowhere Fast’ From ‘Fargo’ Creator Noah Hawley; 30West, CAA, AGC Selling (EXCLUSIVE)

Actor Chris Pine seems set to return to the world of “Hell or High Water” as he takes on a part in an upcoming crime-focused drama.

The actor renowned for roles in “Star Trek” and “Don’t Worry Darling” will headline “Nowhere Fast,” a Texas-set crime thriller. This gripping tale revolves around a small-town criminal who unintentionally ends up killing his boss’s nephew. The screenplay and direction are in the hands of Noah Hawley, famed for creating “Fargo” and “Legion” on FX, as well as the upcoming sci-fi film “Alien: Earth.” Hawley’s Austin-based production company, 26 Keys Productions, is overseeing the project.

30West, who previously produced and funded Pine’s “The Contractor”, is now funding and jointly handling the U.S. distribution rights for “Nowhere Fast” along with CAA Media Finance. Meanwhile, AGC International, the international sales division of thriving independent studio AGC Studios, will manage foreign distribution rights. The casting process for additional actors continues at present.

As a passionate film enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that 30West has been involved in some extraordinary projects recently. One of these is “Together,” directed by Michael Shanks, which made a splashy debut at Sundance 2025 and was quickly snapped up by Neon in a significant deal. Another exciting project is “Day Drinker,” helmed by Marc Webb, featuring the talented Madelyn Cline, Johnny Depp, and Penelope Cruz. Lastly, I can’t wait for “Power Ballad” from John Carney, starring Paul Rudd, Nick Jonas, Jack Reynor, and Havana Rose Liu. These projects promise an exciting cinematic journey!

Pine is symbolized by CAA, Viewpoint, and the team of Gendler, Kelly & Cunningham. Similarly, Hawley is associated with CAA, Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis, and McKuin Frankel Whitehead.
